Bob Nasmith, 1943-2019
Bob Nasmith was a crucial part of Theatre Passe Muraille since its beginning at Rochdale College in the early 1960s. He held various positions over the years, including performer and TPM board member emeritus.
In subsequent years, he graduated to serve on the board of directors as a strong voice for art and artists, and as a confidant to almost every artistic lead during the theatre’s first 50 years of operation. His service at Theatre Passe Muraille culminated in 2018 with his superb performance in Krapp’s Last Tape. He was then awarded a special citation for lifetime achievement by the Toronto Critics in 2018.
Theatre Passe Muraille honoured his contribution by naming the Bob Nasmith Innovation Backspace Theatre after him in the Spring of 2019.
