From encouraging independent and emerging artists, and multicultural work, to inspiring our  staff and artists to work collaboratively, Theatre Passe Muraille works to ensure all voices are represented on our  stage. 

Typically, Theatre Passe Muraille produces and/or presents 6-8 shows a year and hosts rental companies and  festivals throughout the year. Theatre Passe Muraille operates 3 performance spaces — a Mainspace Theatre (185  seats), Backspace Theatre (55 seats), and a Cabaret/Bar space (capacity of 100). 

Job Description 

The Assistant Communications Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and assists them in their day-to-day  tasks. This is a training opportunity for people aspiring to work in marketing and communications in the arts  sector. 

Specific responsibilities include: Collecting social media data/analytics and assisting with reporting Managing content calendar and assisting in organizing and implementing content timelines Assisting in the writing, copy editing, dissemination, and data analysis for TPM email marketing campaigns Other administrative tasks as required

Ideal Base level work skills: Experience with MS suites, google drive Interest in the arts, social justice Strong writer with an eye for detail Interest in data collection and analysis Familiarity with the Toronto Theatre scene is an asset

Job Description 

The Assistant Production Manager reports to the Production and Facilities Manager and assists them in their day to-day tasks. This is a training opportunity for aspiring Production Managers, Technical Directors, or Facilities. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

Production: 

– Closely work with Production & Facilities Manager  

– Coordination support of schedules with renters/collaborators with Producer and PM Schedule proofreading to ensure compliance with TPM requirements 

– Maintenance of shared schedule (google calendar) to keep up-to-date with most current schedules per  show/workshop/event 

– Booking crew for tech calls 

– Reading and responding to incoming technical riders 

– Confirmation of TPM equipment as needed by shows 

– Arrangement of/picking up/dropping off rental equipment or purchased materials as needed by shows 

Providing equipment lists, inventory, and drawings to technical and/or artistic teams Preparing lists and technical riders for TPM touring productions 

– Maintenance of TPM inventory, including identifying obsolete gear and opportunities to expand/upgrade Review and preparation of technical drawings 

– Onsite supervision of technical work 

Facility: 

– Coordination of scheduled events at physical building 

– Communicating with and providing access to service contractors (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) Manage Covid protocols for onsite staff/rentals/collaborators 

– Participate on the Joint Healthy and Safety Committee  

Ideal Base level work skills

– Some hands-on experience (set up sound board, hang a light, use a power drill, use a ladder); not all listed  skills are required, and this is definitely negotiable. Some onsite training could be possible for someone  who wanted to learn more. 

– Working at Heights certification would be necessary (TPM will pay for the course, if necessary). Good comprehension of Excel, Google Drive, MS Word  

– Assets: Autocad, Qlab, EOS family software, Full Drivers License 

– Physical work (Able to carry 50lbs)
