Industry Events

This year we are offering various ways for artists to connect with Theatre Passe Muraille!
Meet Marjorie, Grant Clinic, Co-working Sessions. Details below!

Meet Marjorie

July 26, 2022 / July 28, 2022
Meet Marjorie. A playful image of Marjorie smiling brightly collaged onto a pink background. A friendly bold red letter writes Meet Marjorie, in-person or online!

Artists selected will be given ten minutes to showcase themselves or present an idea. Talk about your idea, sing a piece from your show, or just introduce yourself!  We’re on the lookout for exciting artists new to TPM to work with, artistic projects to facilitate, collaborate on, and be inspired by.  We are specifically hoping to meet artists who we have not met before, and artists whose work we are unfamiliar with.

This year we are holding two sessions: Tuesday July 26th (online) and Thursday July 28 (in-person).

A total of 35 artists (15 in-person, 20 online) will be selected via a lottery system. The deadline to submit is 11:59pm on July 17, and artists will be notified via email on July 20th.

To submit, you will have to fill out a short Google form. If you have access requirements you’d like to discuss, please e-mail Lauryn at intern3@passemuraille.on.ca or leave a message for Artistic Associate April Leung at 416.504.8988 (ext.2123) and we will get back to you shortly.

Accessibility: Accessibility initiatives such as ASL interpretation and captioning are available upon request!

Grant Clinic

July 21, 2022
Grant Clinic. Indrit is photoshopped in a playful way wearing a doctor's suit and black sunglasses. The speech bubble suggests Indrit saying Your grant application is perfect, and a cat replies, thank you.

First time writing grants to the TAC (Toronto Arts Council), OAC (Ontario Arts Council), or CCA (Canada Council for the Arts)? Not sure whether a sentence is working? Want to make sure a paragraph feels clear? No fear! Come sign up for a 40 minute session in our Grant Clinic with Indrit Kasapi, our Interim Managing Director and grant whiz!

The clinic will run from 11am-5pm on July 21 in our Theatre Greenroom. There will be six 40-minute in-person slots available for artists (chosen randomly on a lottery basis). The deadline to apply for a slot is July 14 at 11:59pm. You will be notified by July 18 whether or not you were chosen.

Accessibility: Unfortunately our Greenroom is not wheelchair accessible as there is 1 step up to the space from the theatre. If you have access requirements you’d like to discuss, please e-mail Lauryn at intern3@passemuraille.on.ca or leave a message for Artistic Associate April Leung at 416.504.8988 (ext.2123) and we will get back to you shortly.

*Please note: Indrit will NOT be reading your grants beforehand. You should use the 40 minute slot for a grant writing process that you need advice on. For example, proofread or work on a specific paragraph or questions — or talk about a vision, or go over items to build into the budget.

Co-working days

July 21, 2022 / July 31, 2022
Co-working sessions. Capybaras with cartoon glasses look beyond into the distance, very zen, together.

On July 21 and 31 2022 from 11am – 6pm, we are excited to welcome you to our Theatre-turned-co-working space for some quiet communal working time. Come use our desks for creative writing, grant writing, or whatever writing you need to do! We will have desks, outlets, and free coffee to keep you going.

Desks will be available on a drop-in, first-come-first-serve basis. There will be approximately 10 working spaces available across the Mainspace Theatre.

We look forward to having your focused and creative minds in the space!

Accessibility: The lower floor of the Theatre is wheelchair accessible, and there is an accessible and gender neutral washroom. There will be some tables upstairs in our Cabaret space that are not wheelchair accessible.

If you have access requirements you’d like to discuss, please e-mail Lauryn at intern3@passemuraille.on.ca or leave a message for Artistic Associate April Leung at 416.504.8988 (ext.2123) and we will get back to you shortly.

COVID Protocol: We ask that you keep your mask on when you are at the theatre and not actively eating or drinking. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages as you need, there will be coffee and water available at the theatre.

We will be scanning proof of vaccinations as you enter our theatre. You can find out more about our COVID-19 Protocols on our website.
