“A dance where digital disconnection becomes human reconnection”
Some conversations can only happen through the body. Fascinated by our (mis)communication affected by the digital age, rising stars Naishi Wang and Lukas Malkowski move through the invisible and unspoken emotions buried deep inside of us — the push and pull, the reaching and withholding, the moments when people are present and the moments they are not. Through a series of intentional attempts they try to communicate via facial expressions, dance, Mandarin, English and ASL, in order to answer the core question: How do we continue when we don’t fully understand each other? The work unfolds as an intimate and honest dance between two bodies searching for understanding within the beautiful imperfection of communication.
