Leadership

Marjorie Chan | Artistic Director
Born in Toronto to settlers from Hong Kong, Marjorie Chan is the Artistic Director of Theatre Passe Muraille. As an award-winning interdisciplinary artist, she primarily identifies as a writer with specific interest in contemporary opera and collective forms, while also maintaining an active practice as a dramaturge and director.

Régine Cadet | Managing Director
Régine has been the Managing Director at Theatre Passe Muraille (TPM) for the past 6 years. She came to TPM after twelve years with MAI (Montréal, Arts Interculturels), a multidisciplinary presenter and incubator for the development of intercultural and culturally specific work, where she held the position of Artistic and Executive Director for seven years. Régine has been an integral member of the arts community in Montréal and in Toronto. She is currently the Chair of the TAPA (Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts) board of directors. Régine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Certificate in Professional Accounting and has a background in dance. She is the cofounder of EKSPRESYON a Montreal based dance company focusing on Haitian dance.

Rinchen Dolma | Metcalf Artistic Director Intern
རིན་ཆེན་སྒྲོལ་མ་|Rinchen Dolma was born in Kathmandu, Nepal and is currently based in Tkaronto. She is the founder and Artistic Director of MADE IN EXILE, an arts-based initiative that engages young Tibetan creatives in exploring their complex identities through contemporary mediums of storytelling in exile. She is a community arts practitioner, an emerging playwright, dramaturge and director currently interning at Theatre Passe Muraille in Artistic Direction as the recipient of the 2020 Metcalf Foundation Performing Arts Program.

Indrit Kasapi | Associate Artistic Director

Born in Albania, Indrit and his family are privileged to make Tkarón:to their home since 2000. He is the Founding and current Artistic Producer for lemonTree creations and Associate Artistic Director for Theatre Passe Muraille. Indrit has been a company member of the award winning dance theatre company CORPUS since 2008. He’s a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, a 2018 Harold Award Recipient and a 2020 Dora Nominated performer. Indrit believes his art must provide necessary discourse to fight against white supremacy, colonialism, heteronormativity and misogyny.
Production

David Fisher | Mainspace Technician
David has worked on a large number of productions across Toronto, largely as a technician. He is also the founder and General Manager of the Toronto Theatre Database (www.ttdb.ca), a website that chronicles all the theatrical productions ever done in Toronto. In David’s former life, before theatre, he was a competitive flatwater kayaker, who won a number of medals at the national level.”
Administration

Lada Darewych | Fundraising & Development Manager
Lada (she/her) is a first generation settler of Ukrainian descent, and an actor and music theatre performer whose “day jobs” have always involved fundraising in some form or other. While she still performs from time to time, living in Toronto and having two beautiful children to care for (with composer Kieren MacMillan), her focus has definitely shifted. Working at TPM has provided the perfect opportunity for her to bring the worlds of theatre and fundraising together! She is inspired daily by the incredible artists that create within our walls, and feels very lucky to be surrounded by such supportive, collaborative, and hardworking colleagues at TPM.

Emily Jung | Interim Marketing & Communications Manager
Emily is an artist/artsworker working in Toronto with a focus on the nonprofit arts sector. She has been working in cultural organizations such as the Toronto International Festival of Authors and Theatre Passe Muraille with a keen interest in Canadian cultural policy, nonprofit labour advocacy and community centric fundraising. Her visual artworks explores the relationship between women and their ancestors using a subliminal space, and was most recently exhibited at Cultural Pluralism in the Arts Movement Ontario’s The Gathering Fall 2019: IBPOC Women in the Arts. At the moment, she is pursuing independent research on equity and workers rights in nonprofit arts & arts management education.

Angela Sun | Community Engagement Coordinator
Angela Sun is a first generation/ settler actor, theatre creator, producer, writer, and arts administrator of East Asian descent. As an artist, she has worked with many emerging and established organizations including: CBC/Radio-Canada, Koffler Centre of the Arts, Reel Asian Film Festival, Cahoots Theatre, Durham Art Gallery, Toronto Fringe Festival, The Bentway, Gardiner Museum, Broadleaf Theatre, Theatre ARTaud, and Mixed Company Theatre. As the Community Engagement Coordinator, she seeks to foster connections between TPM and our greater communities, neighbourhoods, and stakeholders. Angela looks forward to learning about how we can better engage with you and welcome you into our theatres!

Merlin Simard | Intern Dramaturge 20.21 Season
Merlin Simard (they/she/iel/elle) is a disabled, Franco-Ontarian, Queer, trans-feminine performer, playwright, dramaturge, and filmmaker originally from Tiohtiá:ke (Montréal) now based in Tkarón:to (Toronto). Select theatre performance credits: E-TRANSFERS (Buddies In Bad Times/BCurrent/NTS), Curious Voyage (Talk Is Free Theatre/DLT), The Flick (Crow’s Theatre/Outside The March), Tape Escape (Outside The March), FEAR OF MEN ((Staged Reading) Assembly Theatre) and Gruesome Playground Injuries (Playground Productions) TV/Film: Grand Army (Netflix), This Life (CBC) Playwriting: FEAR OF MEN (in development at Theatre Passe Muraille), ZADDY ISSUES (In development at Ergo Arts Theatre) and E-TRANSFERS (Buddies In Bad Times/BCurrent/NTS (co-written with Gabe Maharjan)). Merlin currently holds the position of Dramturgy Intern at Theatre Passe Muraille.
