Blind Friendly

Blind Friendly Performances includes everything for a Relaxed Environment PLUS elements of the show have been created or adapted to better include Blind audience members. Audience Members will be provided with a show-specific Access Guide that will outline what specific elements make the performance Blind Friendly.

All performances will be created with Low Vision and Blind audiences in mind and with the aid of a Consultant

Elements that might be created or adapted to better include Blind & Low Vision audience members:

  • directional sound,
  • embedded non-traditional description,
  • an audio-based performance introduction,
  • audio-based staging.

Blind Friendly Performances

Blind Dates | Blind Friendly

Show Run: Feb 13-March 15 

The entire run of Blind Dates will be Blind Friendly. Blind Friendly is a term used by Theatre Passe Muraille to convey to audiences that elements of the production have been adjusted, added, and considered in consultation with Disability Dramaturg Jess Watkin. There will be a self led touch tour available in the lobby before and after the performance.

PAST SHOWS

The Flin Flon Cowboy | Relaxed Environment | Blind Friendly

Show Run: October 19- November 2, 2024 

The entire run of The Flin Flon Cowboy will be Blind Friendly. Blind Friendly is a term used by Theatre Passe Muraille to convey to audiences that elements of the production have been adjusted, added, and considered in consultation with Disability Dramaturg, Debbie Patterson, Blind artist, Vivi Dabee, and Blind artist, Alex Bulmer.

Touch Tours available on: 

Friday October 25 at 6:45pm

Saturday November 2 at 6:45pm

For each of these tours, at TPM staff members will offer patrons a model of the set and costume pieces to engage with, and Musical Director Johnny Spence will be present to play a variety of instruments. Individuals interested in attending the Touch Tour are invited to arrive on the evenings it is offered at 6:45 pm. When you book tickets please note in the Accessibility pop up if you will be attending the Tour Tour as well.
